Would you like to have a full list of all of your tradeskill recipes for your guidies and friends to peruse? Well, the author of this addon has compiled a database of all tradeskill recipes, and given you a way to make a list of everything you know. Merely install the PublishMySkills addon, follow the instructions and let it work its magic, then paste the looong link it gives you (on its in-game window) into your web browser. Pick for 6/22: OPie (new) & cargExplorer (updated)

OPie:

OneRing has been renamed OPie (since there was already an addon named OneRing) and released for public beta! This is the new thing that people are talking about around your watering hole. It allows you to press a keybind to show a ring with an arrow on your screen, then you move your mouse around it to select which item/spell to use. You can have as many rings as you like, and it even comes with some preset ones. If you wish to see a video of the addon in use, see the Gallery on its website.

cargExplorer:

Want to explore every inch of your map? Then check out cargExplorer. It will tell you the percentage of how much of the world or a zone you have discovered, and how many pieces you have missing. So, put on your explorer's hat and call yourself Magellan!

Sorry for the missed PotW last weekend - one of my little brothers got married! :) So proud... /sniff... :o So, today's PotW will encompass both weeks, with an addon from each week. :)

Shoo Shards:

With my warlock alt, I always used to run into the problem of filling up my bags with soulshards. I'd think: "yay! a green!" then see that my bags are full of shards. Well, with Shoo Shards you can now auto-delete shards if you already have the max amount that you would like to keep. So, go on - continue your habit of casting Drain Soul... And never fear that you'll run out of room for quest items or phat lewt. ;)

ArenaHistorian:

Do you enjoy doing Arenas and always want to go over each fight to see how you and your team did against your opponents? ArenaHistorian will keep track of tons of details from every match. Your opponents, their race, their class, their spec, how much damage everyone did, etc. You can even sync with other users of ArenaHistorian on your team if you missed a night of matches.

Pick for 6/1: Oldies but Goodies

This week in Pick of the Week, we're going to take a look at some old addons instead of new/updated ones. Some addons just plain work and don't need to be touched for ages. Two of the below have actually been updated recently, but they hadn't been for a long while before that, and you likely won't see them touched again for at least a few patches.

Note: besides the two that were touched recently, you will need to check "Load Out of Date Addons" in the addon selection screen.

Align:

Are you obsessive compulsive about the placement of your UI elements? Perfectionist? Anal? Want to make sure things are the same size? Want things centered? All of the above? Well, Align can help you with that. What it does is place a grid (you can make the grid as large/small as you wish) over your screen to help you line things up. It's a favorite of all pro UI designers and perfectionists. ;)

Bookworm:

Are you a collector? Do you like to find everything in a game? Love the game's lore? Are you a ... bookworm? This addon keeps track of everything you have read in the game and helps you remember where you found it. Books, letters, plaques, you name it.

ChatBar:

ChatBar has been around for a long time, and the last time it was updated was December 2006! But it still works. It provides a little bar of buttons for the different chat types/channels you are in. Clicking a button will open the edit box, ready to send a message to that channel.

ElectrofluxTextronator:

Electro-huh?... This addon vies for the "best name ever" award. It is similar to SunnArt and X-Art in that it places a graphic at the bottom of your screen to place chat/buttons/etc in. Viewport and texture selection are configurable. There's even a plugin with another texture, and you can use your own. NOTE: If you get an error regarding an Ace Library, then download and install Ace2. This addon is also no longer maintained, unlike the others, whose authors are still around.

Elkano's FramesResized:

Wish you could see more in your tradeskill list? Or trainer list? Quest log? Loot frame even? Then try out this addon. FramesResized is the other addon in this list that was touched recently. The last update it received before that was over a year ago. And, according to its author, it shouldn't need to see an update again for a long time.

PriorityMail and ExpressMail:

PriorityMail aids with the sending side, and ExpressMail deals with the receiving end. Remember last recipient, shift-click to take items, alt-click to auto-send attachments, etc. ExpressMail was created (and last updated) back in December '06. PriorityMail was made to complement it a few months after, and has seen a couple of updates since. These also go well with BetterInbox, which I picked for the week of 5/18.

Spellbinder:

Want to play with lots of keybinds, but don't want to put those abilities/macros on bars? Then check out SpellBinder. It lets you keybind directly to your spellbook, a macro, an item, etc. Finally, you can get the minimal UI you always wanted.

Joo Janta 200 Super-Chromatic Peril Sensitive Sunglasses

Do you freak out when you lose control of your character? Hate seeing your character run around like a chicken with its head cut off when you get feared? Pick for 5/25: Tabard (new) & BigRed (updated)

Wow - I had a hard time picking this week! :)

Tabard:

I'm sure a lot of you have seen addons that randomly switch out vanity pets from your bank, like Kennel. Well, Tabard provides this feature with your tabards! There are close to 40 different tabards one can have nowadays. Guild tabard, Consortium tabard, Argent Dawn, Scarlet Crusade, etc. This addon will randomly select a tabard for you to wear every time you visit your bank. No need to invest in moth balls. ;)

BigRed:

BigRed was new to wowi last week, and I almost picked it, but there was a bug with it that needed fixing before I could promote it to the masses. This week, Casull fixed it. So, BigRed gets to be the Updated PotW. :)

Have you ever gotten sick of the error messages in the top-center of your screen? The ones that say you can't do something yet, or you don't have enough mana or rage for an ability, or your target is too far away. This addon lets you customize this error frame, so that you can move it, change font and font size (also outline/bold it), throttle messages so they don't spam your screen, etc.

Pick for 5/18: CombatCam (new) & BetterInbox (updated)

CombatCam:

Maybe you like to run around with your camera zoomed in so it's in first person... Perhaps you prefer to have your camera overhead when in combat... Or maybe you get really annoyed when you're typing in chat, a mob jumps you, and all your guild sees is "Anyone want towwwwwwwq2221asszd"... All of these are good reasons to try out CombatCam.

CombatCam allows you to set presets for your camera position when in and out of combat, and also has a third preset for whatever you choose. It also has a bonus module, called SmartEdit, which removes focus from the chat edit box if you enter combat while typing. This allows you to use the keyboard to move/fight without the garbled gibberish to your friends. Focus is returned to the edit box upon leaving combat, so you can type just like nothing ever happened. ;)

BetterInbox:

BetterInbox is an addon which strives to make your inbox... well... better. :p It replaces the pages in your inbox with a scrollable window. It also gives a summary of what's included in your mail at the top, and allows you to open all mail (or only mail with gold or just items) at once.

Pick for 5/11: Auctionator (new) & Nameplate Modifier (new/updated)

Two new mods this week. (Actually, Nameplates Modifier was an old mod, but it's being rewritten and re-released.) And since they're both lazy on the screenshots (tsk tsk!) you get to meet my banker, Banchiere. :) (I give permission to the authors to use these screenshots on their download pages if they don't get a chance to make ones of their own.)

Auctionator:

Auctionator is an addon to make your time at the auction house faster and easier. It adds a new "Auctionator" tab to the auction house which functions like the "Auctions" tab. Except that when you put an item in the window, it automatically scans the auction house for that item and gathers price information for you. It then recommends what price you should sell it for.

Nameplate Modifier:

As mentioned above, this is a re-release/rewrite of an old addon. If you are familiar with the old version, then note that not all features have been reimplemented yet. Nameplate Modifier does just what it says - it modifies the default Blizzard nameplates. I happen to not particularly like the look of the Blizzard nameplates. But with this addon, you can change the bar texture, font, whether text is outlined or not, etc. It also taps into SharedMedia if you have that installed.

I would also like to note that an addon called FixBlizzCastBar was uploaded to the site this week. As some of you may have noticed, there is a bug in the game currently where the cast bar will disappear if Lightning Shield or similar procs. This addon should take care of that for you, if you have experienced the issue.

Pick for 5/4: lolCritCount (new) & Engravings (updated)

lolCritCount:

lolCritCount is more of a "for fun" addon than a "functional" one. All it does is keep track of how many crits you have in a row, and then shows the total damage of that string of crits on your screen. This could be a very entertaining addon if you have a high crit rate. ;)

Engravings:

Engravings hadn't seen an update in over 2 years. Until the other day, that is. This mod allows you to place user-created notes in an item's tooltip. Make note of what mob an item drops off of, what quest an item is for, or add your own flavor text to your new, big axe! With it's new update, it now comes with some default notes on boss drops, PVP gear, and Badge loot. If you wish to not view those default notes, you may delete those lua files from the addon's folder. More default notes and some options will be coming in a future update.

Pick for 4/28: BreakTime (new) and TradeTabs (updated)

Well, it seems I'm a day late on the pick. :p Yesterday I got a bit distracted with errands and the idea for a new addon to write (which will mean me fighting with code and API for a while ;) )

BreakTime:

Sure, we've seen alarm clock addons before, but BreakTime allows you to set messages to display for your alarms, too. I know that I'm not the only person in the world that hits the snooze button in the morning - an alarm goes off and you instantly wish to silence it. But what if your alarm also told you that it was time to go watch your favorite tv show? Or that it was time to go pick up your son from practice?

TradeTabs:

Hate switching between profession windows? TradeTabs makes it easier. As you can see in the screenshot, it adds tabs to the side of your crafting frame that let you switch between any professions you have. This also includes Poisons for Rogues and Beast Training for Hunters. Now you can smelt your ore and craft those necklaces virtually from the same window.

Pick for 4/20: NinjaPoints and BindingsReminder (both updated)

This week I have two updated mods for you. Both were actually new to the site last week, but got pushed aside... Due to their authors' updates though, they were put into the pool again for this week. :)

NinjaPoints:

NinjaPoints is a combo point tracker for you rogues and druids out there. It will display combo point numbers on your screen or you can define what text is shown for each point, such as "Tres" in the above screenshot. Another example given by its author is that you could spell out words for each point (1 point would show a K, 2 = KI, 3 = KIL, 4 = KILL, and 5 would show KILL!) Fonts are customizable and you can even use your own custom sound file for combo points.

BindingsReminder:

BindingsReminder adds the image of a QWERTY style keyboard below your keybindings window. Red highlighted keys are those that you have an action bound to already. Hovering over a button (such as the 2 in the screenshot above) shows what is bound to that key, including bindings that involve modifiers such as Control or Shift. This is a great tool for those like me who forget what is bound to what, or for those who want to see what keys they have available still.

Pick for 4/13: Fisherman's Friend (new) & Gem Quota (updated)

Fisherman's Friend:

New to WoWInterface this week is Fisherman's Friend, an addon by Ammo that aims to make your life easier while fishing. Upon equipping your fishing pole, the mod will tweak your sound settings so that you can hear the splash better when you catch a fish. When you un-equip your fishing pole, sounds are returned to the original settings. It will also use lures and equip +fishing items for you when casting. You can also set it so that you can double-right-click to cast your line, and change to Auto-Loot for fishing (will change it back when you're finished).

Gem Quota:

Gem Quota has been on the site for a little while, but saw an update this week to update it for 2.4. What it does is add another entry into the pull-down menus on the character pane for your gem stats. It will tell you what you need for your Meta gem and whether or not it's currently active. It will also sum up total stats for each color gem you have equipped.

Pick for 4/6: Panda (new)

Panda is a mod that Tekkub started talking about a long time ago and I had since forgotten about. Well, it was finally released to wowi, and here's the scoop on it.

Panda:

Panda (Prospecting and Disenchanting Aide) is a mod to help you auto-loot when disenchanting and prospecting. Sure, you could just enable Auto Loot in your Interface Options, but most people (myself included) prefer to leave that option off. But using the auto-loot modifier key (shift, for example) only works for the first DE or Prospect. So, visions of pandas started dancing around in tekkub's brain.

Since then, a couple of other features have taken form in the mod. It also helps auto-loot when cutting gems and will gather price information from AuctioneerAdvanced for gems, dusts, and other mats.
